Starter gear. If you are just starting magic, head over to the Magic shop located at Home. (Teleport to Home) and it is the person in mage outfit. Buy some runes, mystic robes, ghostly robes will do if you are a pure. Also if you are alching to 99 there is no need for robes, but you may need them in the future!
Ahrims robes are very cheap, about 15m max per piece and they are the 2nd(not too sure) best mage robes. If you have a lot of cash you can get some Zuriels, which is the best mage gear. Infinity boots, barrows gloves, mages book, amulet of fury or other, staff of your choice (Sol or master wand may be best, maybe some other?. I will have to check on this). Arcane and Spectral spirit shields may prove useful to magicians, as one has very good mage defence, while the other has very good magic attack. (Need to check).
